I've just had news of my first acceptance in a major international exhibition, the Royal Photographic Society's International Projected Image Exhibition 2011. The image accepted is somewhat unimaginatively entitled
Tobermory Lifeboat on Exercise with Rescue 177 and features Tobermory RNLI mechanic, Jock Anderson, being winched back on to the Severn class lifeboat,
Elizabeth Fairlie Ramsey from the Royal Navy's search and rescue helicopter based at HMS Gannet at Prestwick. The image was taken with a Canon 15mm fisheye lens last August.
According to the Royal Photographic Society's website, over 4000 images were submitted from nearly 800 photographers worldwide, so needless to say I am hugely excited to have had an image accepted. The exhibition opens in Newcastle on 25 October before touring all over the UK and Ireland. I intend to be at the opening and spend some time exploring the landscapes of north-east England.
