Despite owning an excellent Canon G9 compact camera, one of the things I'm very poor at is ensuring that I have a camera with me at all times. Yes I have a mobile 'phone and whilst my iPhone is excellent at many things, the camera on the 3GS is pretty useless (I can recommend the Hipstamatic app, however). But for once, I had the G9 with me on a walk with a friend yesterday afternoon and so I was able to capture some lovely light and the full moon rising over Loch Sunart. The great thing about the G9 is that it is able to shoot in RAW, one of the few compacts a few years ago to have that capability. It also does exactly what it says on the tin and is compact. With the best will in the world, sometimes I can't be bothered to carry my 5D Mark II, particularly if I am just out for a Sunday afternoon stroll with a pal.
As you'll see from these images, we finally have snow on Mull. With freezing temperatures forecast for the next few days and the possibility of another dump of snow later in the week, it looks as if we might be in for a white Christmas.
